Summer lovin': Matt SMith and Daisy Lowe look as loved up as ever during a working holiday in LA
He is supposed to be over in the States working.
But Matt Smith looked like he was more than a little distracted yesterday in Los Angeles - though who could blame him, with model girlfriend Daisy Lowe by his side.
The couple looked as loved-up as ever as they strolled hand in hand, got hot and heavy on the beach and tucked into lunch during their Californian sojourn.
Getting to grips: The Doctor Who star couldn't resist a cheeky squeeze as he and his gorgeous girlfriend strolled through LA
Matt, 28, and his 22-year-old girlfriend spent a relaxing day in the sunshine and appeared prepared for any weather eventuality, making several costume changes throughout the day.
Both started out in a shorts and vests as they strolled through the shops. They kissed and hugged as they walked clutching refreshments, and Matt couldn't resist a cheeky squeeze of Daisy's behind.
The couple stopped by an outdoor cafe where they tucked into a hearty lunch on the side walk.
Then the lovebirds headed down to the beach, where they lay in the sand and cuddled.
Hot and heavy: The couple are rarely seen not in a steamy clinch at home or abroad
Lazy days: Matt and Daisy stretched out on the beach for some canoodling
Model and designer Daisy read a book, while Matt snoozed next to her, but it wasn't long before their near-constant PDA was back in full force again.
Later they managed to untangle themselves long enough for Matt to get in a jog, and Daisy looked a little glum being separated from her man as she took a solo stroll.
In a recent interview Matt admitted there are some drawbacks to dating the Doctor. 'The workload and the level of attention you get in this role of Doctor Who are significant, but hopefully you can find someone that supports you, which I am lucky to have,' he told the Daily Mirror.
I'm a lucky man: Matt looked like the cat who got the cream as he and his lady cuddled on the sand
Beach strip: Matt struck a pose on the beach before removing his trousers
'One hopes it is a pleasant experience to be going out with me.
'If you were an astronaut, the Prime Minister or a brain surgeon, I think that would be harder because they are dealing with life and death every day.'
Despite yesterday appearing to be strictly holiday-mode for the couple, Matt recently revealed his plans for the LA trip.
'I’m going over to Los Angeles to dip my head in the pond,' Matt told the Mirror. 'I am going to be having loads of meetings with film people and that sort of stuff.
Food break: All that kissing worked up an appetite and the couple tucked into lunch
The long and short of it: The couple appeared prepared for any weather and made several costume changes throughout the day
'I have a lot of ambitions. I would like one day to direct and I just want to keep doing quality work. LA is kinda groovy – I really like it out there.
'Would I get a big part, who knows? Sadly, that is not up to me. That all depends on people in the American film industry and whether they want to put me there. But I certainly won’t complain if that happens.'
Matt and Daisy began dating in February last year but split after just a few weeks.
They soon rekindled the romance though and have been going strong ever since.
Work it out: Matt finally broke away from his girlfriend to get a work out it, and Daisy looked a little glum being separated from her man as she took a solo stroll.
Daisy supported Matt at the BAFTA Television Awards over the weekend, but her mother Pearl has poured cold water over speculation of an engagement.
‘That’s a long way off at the moment. Daisy is too young for that right now,' the designer recently told the Sunday Mirror.
'There is no rush is there? I waited until I was 38! I just liked to be sure after 16 years. We did it for the party to be honest.'
